Making the Most of Beauty in Quarantine

April 17, 2020

While the overall thought around social distancing, self-isolation and quarantine has been mostly negative, there are some silver linings that shouldn’t be overlooked. Now is the perfect time to show yourself a little love and focus on making the best of your beauty regimen. Whether that means trying something new or taking a break from your usual routine, here are 5 things you can experiment with while in quarantine.

Try a Natural Deodorant

Switching to a natural deodorant takes trial and error, time, and dedication. Anyone who’s successfully made the switch from an antiperspirant to a natural deodorant know that things can get sweaty, stinky and all around uncomfortable. When you quit your antiperspirant, your sweat glands become unblocked – aka you get really sweaty. It takes time for your body to purge and adjust to a natural deodorant. So instead of sweating bullets at work and wondering if that smell is you (it probably is), do it from the comfort of your own home!

Natural deodorants we love:

Necessaire The Deodorant

Megababe Sunny Pits

Arm and Hammer Essential Solid Deodorant

Do an At-Home Peel

Have you been scared to do an at-home peel? Now is the perfect time - even if you do get flaky or dry, there’s no one around to see. Just make sure to perform a patch test first, read directions thoroughly, moisturize afterwards, and always – we repeat, always – use an SPF (preferably mineral), with an SPF rating greater than 25 (even inside!).*

At-home peels we love:

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial

The Ordinary AHA 30% BHA 2% Peeling Solution

Give Your Hair a Break

For some of us, blow dryers and curling irons are part of our everyday routine. And while the results are always fantastic, it’s safe to say our hair probably doesn’t love the constant wear and tear. Use this time to give your hair a break from the hot tools and give it a little extra love with masks and treatments. By the end of quarantine your hair will be shinier, feel healthier and appreciate you a little more.

Hair treatments we love:

Davines NaturalTech Nourishing Vegetarian Miracle Mask

RevitaLash Cosmetics Volume Enhancing Foam

Show Your Lashes and Brows Some Love

Just like our hair, lashes and brows need love too! And although you probably don’t use hot tools on them, they still endure wear and tear due to chemical and environmental stressors and styling products. Lash and brow serums deliver essential ingredients directly to lash and brow hair, resulting in healthier, stronger, more beautiful looking lashes and brows.

Lash and brow serums we love:

RevitaBrow® Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner

RevitaLash® Advanced Eyelash Conditioner

Put Your Makeup Down

For many of us, putting on makeup is one of the first things we do every day. It gives us confidence, makes us feel powerful and allows us to express our creativity. On the flip side, makeup can be harsh on your skin, clog pores and sometimes lead to breakouts. Use this time as an opportunity to let your skin breathe and drink up your favorite skincare products!

Skincare products we love:

RevitaLash Cosmetics AquaBlur Hydrating Eye Gel & Primer

RevitaLash Cosmetics Micellar Water Lash Wash
