4 Simple Tips for Achieving Beautiful Skin

The new year is right around the corner and there’s no time like present to kick off healthy habits for beautiful skin. In case you’re in need of a little inspiration for 2020, we’ve rounded up our favorite beauty resolutions that easily fit into your current routine. Read on to find out more!

Hydration is Key

You’ve heard this before and you’ll hear it again, but that’s because it’s true! Staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your body and skin. Not only does it help flush out toxins, regulate body temperature, aid the digestive system and maintain blood pressure, but it also boosts skin health, leading to a more beautiful complexion. If you find yourself having trouble remembering to hydrate, we recommend setting an alarm or downloading an app that sends you reminders throughout the day (we love My Water Balance!).

Wash. Your. Face.

You’ve probably heard that one night of sleeping in your makeup ages you 7 days. While dermatologists don’t unanimously agree on this, they ALL agree that sleeping in makeup is never a good idea. Beyond getting makeup on sheets, clogging pores and irritating the skin, some doctors believe that sleeping in your makeup can cause premature aging. Luckily, this is a pretty easy thing to avoid, especially with good skincare products on hand. We love our Micellar Water Lash Wash because it easily and effectively removes makeup, dirt and oil while hydrating the skin, creating a clean foundation for the rest of your skincare routine. Best of all, it can be used with a cotton pad and because it’s a no-rinse formula, it doesn’t need to be washed off!

Commit to 7-8 Hours

WE KNOW, we know – you’ve heard it before; but when you break it down, sleep may be the single most important thing you can do for your body, skin and mental well-being. Lack of sleep weakens your immune system, leads to cognition issues, increases risk of weight gain and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. We all lead busy lives and a great night of sleep isn’t always guaranteed, but making sleep a priority will help you feel better, stay healthier and look more beautiful.

If you have trouble falling asleep, try the following:

  • Natural remedies like Chamomile tea or Melatonin supplements
  • Eating lighter meals towards the end of the day
  • Taking a long, hot shower before bed
  • Meditating (we love the Headspace app!)
  • Limiting screen time before bed

Two Words: Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is a tried and true ingredient found in many hydrating products, and is one of our favorite hydration-inducing ingredients here at RevitaLash® Cosmetics. Although the word “acid” might seem scary, Hyaluronic Acid is far from it! Naturally occurring in the human body, this powerhouse ingredient has the ability to hold up to six liters of water in a single gram (yes, six!). Benefits include hydrated, soft, plump skin that appears more radiant and diminishes the appearance of fine lines. Not to mention, Hyaluronic Acid is good for every skin type. If you’re ready to take the plunge (pun intended), try our AquaBlur® Hydrating Eye Gel & Primer – a soothing, smoothing and hydrating primer that fortifies lashes and brows.
